Barbara’s Story

Barbara Liotta, 70, of Shoreham, NY, was diagnosed in January 2026 with adenocarcinoma, a type of non-small cell lung cancer. Since her diagnosis, Barbara has approached her journey with incredible strength and positivity, undergoing chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and participating in a clinical trial. She is responding well to treatment, and her doctors are very encouraged by the progress she has made so far.

Barbara and her family want the community to understand that cancer is more than treatments and appointments – it’s often the quiet, in-between moments that can be the most difficult. Some days she feels strong, and other days she is simply doing her best to get through. Even on the hardest days, Barbara continues to show resilience and grace.

She finds great comfort in the love and support surrounding her. With family and friends walking beside her every step of the way, Barbara is never alone in this fight, and through it all, she is stronger than anyone could have imagined.

Barbara lives life with joy and passion. She loves traveling, decorating, shopping, dancing, and spending time walking and making memories with her grandchildren. She enjoys golf, Italian food, and all kinds of music. No matter what she is facing, Barbara continues to carry her incredible sense of humor – choosing to laugh, love, and truly live each day.

She is fierce, funny, kind, caring, generous, and brave; a true inspiration to all who know her.

Barbara and her family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Shoreham-Wading River community and surrounding businesses for their continued support of LaxOut Cancer. It means more than words can express during this time.

Barbara, we are here for you. Your strength and fierceness will carry you forward day after day. Keep shining your positivity and never lose your smile.

Sending our love, thoughts, and prayers.
