Paula’s Story

Paula Tuthill, 40, of Coram, NY, is a proud Shoreham-Wading River High School graduate (Class of 2003). In January 2026, Paula was diagnosed with Triple Positive Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, a form of breast cancer. She is currently recovering well following a double mastectomy and is preparing to begin chemotherapy.

January was an especially difficult month for Paula and her family. Just weeks before her diagnosis, her husband suffered a heart attack. While he is now doing well, the combination of both health challenges, alongside working full time and caring for their young children has made for an incredibly trying time.

Through it all, Paula continues to show strength, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to her family.

Paula finds her greatest joy in spending time with her loved ones, especially her three children. She enjoys listening to music, playing volleyball in a beach league, and going hiking. She is someone who truly appreciates life’s simple and meaningful moments.

Known for her kind heart, Paula has a natural ability to brighten anyone’s day. She is hardworking, selfless, and always willing to help others. She finds happiness in seeing those around her doing what they love, and her sense of humor and love for singing bring smiles to everyone lucky enough to know her.

Paula is a light to so many – funny, caring, and full of love.

Paula, we hope to bring a little brightness to your day, just as you so often do for others. We are standing with you and your family, lifting you up with love, strength, and support every step of the way.

Sending our love, thoughts, and prayers.
